David Hinton is the translator of such seminal works as the I Ching, Tao Te Ching, and the Analects of Confucius. He has received numerous awards for his work, including a lifetime achievement award by the American Academy of Arts and Letters. His most recent book is China Root (Shambhala, 2020).
